Brookline is a town located in the state of Massachusetts, in Norfolk County. Brookline is part of Greater Boston and borders six of Boston’s neighborhoods. Some of those neighborhoods include Mission Hill, Allston, and Brighton. The population of Brookline is about 58,732 people. Back in 1638 Brookline was first settled as a hamlet in Boston, then came to be a separate town in 1705.
Brookline has many different points of interest. The Coolidge Corner, which is located at the crossing of Beacon Street and Harvard Street. It is one of Brookline’s primary retail districts. It also includes a few historic sites. Some of those sites are the Coolidge Corner Theatre and the S.S. Pierce building. Another point of interest is The Country Club, which is an exclusive sporting club in town. It was the first private club in the United States formed exclusively for outdoor activities. There were also two stops on the Underground Railroad in Brookline. 182 Walnut Street and 9 Toxeth Street.
